Von Dutch

Kenneth Howard was a mechanic, bike builder, photographer and gunsmith. He was well known for his pinstriping ability. He designed Steve McQueen’s iconic ‘Mare’s Leg’ rifle. He disliked money, preferring to stay “on the edge of poverty”, because it made things simple. He died in 1992 from medical issues stemming after a lifetime of alcoholism. His name was sold as a brand to a Japanese clothing company, and then to kickboxer Tonny Sorensen. I appreciate Dutch’s attitude towards money, and sort of understand his heirs selling his name, but I don’t want to glamourise guns and am not very interested in Dutch’s hypermasculinity.
