Tiffany Jones
Guy Lochhead, 22/04/12
English comic series written by Jenny Butterworth and drawn by Pat Tourret. It was the first comic made entirely by women. The plot follows a young woman, Tiffany Jones, as she moves to London during the Swinging Sixties. She becomes a fashion model and involves herself in the hip, new London scene. The strip was published between 1964 and 1977. It was adapted into a saucy film in 1973. This strip is very conservative in how it approaches a scene that was pretty radical. It’s all very tame, and not very feminist. I don’t think it needs to be included. The drawings are cool though, and are a far better representation of ’60s art and fashion than Tiffany’s dull life.
