Think Of Me First As A Person

A short documentary about a boy with Down Syndrome. The footage was shot on 16mm film in the ‘60s by the boy’s father, Dwight Core, Sr. The filmmakers grandson, George Ingmire, completed the film forty years later. It was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry when it was released in 2006. This is a remarkable film in many ways. Every story behind it is joyous and moving. I will include a DVD of the film (which is independently distributed by the family). It is a fantastic example of a power of the moving image that is rarely harnessed so wholly. Raw love!
