Australian novelist for children, young adults and adults. She has been described as “the finest Australian writer of her generation”. Her first book, ‘Trouble All The Way’, was written at the age of thirteen and published when she was fifteen. I am intrigued as to why Hartnett has been described in such glowing terms. I will read some more of her writing and possibly reconsider, but at the moment I feel that she’s just a decent writer of fiction, and that wouldn’t be enough for inclusion.
