Australian artist and illustrator. Brooks grew up in Mallacoota, Victoria, and spent his early years “mostly just messing about… hardly able to believe how beautiful the world was.” He attended art school and then began drawing children’s picture books. He prefers to illustrate other people’s stories. Man this guy sounds like the total opposite to me. My nemesis? The world’s so ugly I wanna hurl. I don’t like Brooks’ swooshy, ‘earthy’ drawing style and am not bowled over by his life.
