Guy Lochhead, 29/08/10
American film director known for his stylised but naturalistic films. He is probably best known for directing the film ‘MASH’, but has directed industrial films, shorts, documentaries and lots of other features. He believed children didn’t have the patience to watch his films. He was an outspoken marijuana user. He signed the Not In My Name petition. If I was to include one of his films, it would be ‘McCabe and Mrs. Miller’, for its subversion of Western conventions. I’m not going to though because of his attitudes towards children, and because his films are boring and stylised. Also because he began his career making industrial films for companies.
