Richard Rush
Guy Lochhead, 29/08/10
American film director. Rush’s film output is widely understood as being patchy. His best known, and best-received, was ‘The Stunt Man’, an ambitious post-modern epic about a stunt man/veteran on the run that took nine years to shoot. I would include The Stunt Man because I always like that sort of ambition, but the main character is so annoying and there doesn’t seem to be a point. I think Rush’s films are usually over-reaching standard Hollywood films with art-house pretensions.
