Paddy Chayefsky

Sidney ‘Paddy’ Chayefsky was an American satirical writer famous for his role in the American ‘kitchen sink’ realist T.V. drama period of the early-‘50s. He later wrote three Oscar winning film scripts (‘Marty’, ‘The Hospital’ and ‘Network’). I was going to include ‘Network’, but then I thought that I didn’t really value Chayefsky’s career highly enough, despite his ‘kitchen sink’ credentials. He doesn’t have the extra ‘spark’ or whatever that would make me want to include him.
