Mattel toy line begun in 1983. The original TV series was created purely to sell the toys. He-Man was created as a child-friendly Conan, and as a competitor to the Star Wars toys. The story follows He-Man and his friends as they fight to defend Castle Greyskull from the evil Skeletor. He-Man was made to sell bad toys to kids. It reinforces male stereotypes, is badly scripted and had no presence of any race other than Caucasian. No good! She-Ra, however, is much more exciting. I will write about her separately.
