Ex-soldier and music teacher turned co-founder of the ‘Heaven’s Gate’ cult, whose 40 members committed mass suicide in 1997, wearing matching black uniforms, Nike trainers and arm patches, with six of the men castrated. They believed they had to evacuate the Earth for Haley Bop (and Applewhite wanted to visit the cult’s dead co- founder, Bonnie Nettles). Weirdo. No point including him.
