Irish-American author best-known for his stories about Grand Fenwick, beginning with ‘The Mouse That Roared’. He started his career busking with his violin, then as a journalist and sometimes editor for papers in England, Trinidad and America. He stopped writing for papers when he finished his first novel ‘The King’s Beard’ in 1952.
Although I don’t think all of Wibberley’s huge amount of writing is that brilliant, the ‘Mouse’ series is a great satire that distils and explains the events it mocks. I will include that and write about it separately.
