Digital artist and children’s book writer/illustrator, Seibold has developed his self-taught style to match the ‘zaniness’ of the accompanying text, often supplied by Vivian Walsh, his wife. Their books match light-hearted chaos with a sense of adventure, but are mostly marked out by Seibold’s unique drawing style.
Seibold’s books don’t really mean anything, and I think a lot is lost in using only digital art processes (though he does use blow-paints for exhibitions). All sorts of emotive opportunities (visible pen/brush strokes etc.) are simply being dismissed.
