Italian-American Hollywood director and writer best known for ‘Apocalypse Now’. Father to a successful filmmaking family. Also has a wine and pasta ‘lifestyle brand’ called Francis Ford Coppola Presents.
I think ‘Apocalypse Now’ is an amazing, horrendous film. The making of it was notoriously difficult, and I’d like to include it as an example of the perils of big-money filmmaking (both the horror and beauty it can produce). Include ‘Apocalypse Now’/‘Hearts of Darkness’ VHS boxset (the only time they’ve been released together, weirdly). Also possibly include some of his pasta on a shelf somewhere.
