San Francisco punk group formed in 1979 whose sound can be characterised by slower tempos, a punchy bass presence, slightly more melodic vocals and meandering, distorted guitar. They are considered one of the biggest influences on the ’90s sludge/grunge sound. I like some Flipper songs; I find some annoying. Either way, they’re just another band.
