Claude Chabrol
Guy Lochhead, 20/06/10
Sometimes credited as the founder of the Nouvelle Vague movement, Chabrol has a reputation as a distant, compassionless director, presenting his melodramas and crime thrillers with a calculated coldness. Chabrol is stuck in the Nouvelle Vague obsessions with crime and love triangles. He makes great films, but he’s always been a film critic or filmmaker. His are very much adult films.
