This DVD release compiles the two feature films made by Walt Disney and his team on their 1941 U.S. Government-sponsored visit to Latin America.
When I heard about this DVD, I thought the idea was commendable – take characters that were then at the height of their fame (Donald and Goofy) to Latin American locations to spread awareness of traditional South American customs, and promote harmony and multiculturalism. In fact, the whole thing is half-baked and phoney. Disney only went when he knew the government would pay him. There’s no real feeling in the films.
