Miller’s daughter from Lourdes, France who, aged 14 – in 1858, reported 18 apparitions of “a small young lady”. After a canonical investigation, the apparition was named ‘Our Lady of Lourdes’ and Soubirous became St. Bernadette, the Christian mystic. What a load of hokey! Adolescent imagination becomes religious truth! I don’t believe in ghosts or gods, and I wouldn’t ever encourage that belief. I would like to include her as a testament to young imagination, but it’s gone too far.
