Anslem Douglas
Guy Lochhead, 11/09/10
Trinidadian musician most famous for singing ‘Who Let The Dogs Out?’. Douglas’ musical development began in the choir of his local Pentecostal Church. He formed his own group, Exodus, and had national success. He became a coast guard for a while, and played in several bands during this time. He recorded ‘Who Let The Dogs Out?’ in the Carnival season of 1998. It has since been covered many times, most famously outside of the Caribbean by Baha Men. In 2001 he was sued and lost a lawsuit for stealing the chorus of it from a 1995 radio jingle by a Canadian recording studio. Weird. I’m not going to include him. Weird life.
