4 Months, 3 Weeks And 2 Days

2007 Romanian film by Cristian Mungiu. The film is set in Communist Romania in 1987, and follows two friends as they attempt to find an illegal abortion (which was illegal under the regime). The film is incredible, but I think it’s potentially too tied to a historical period to be included. Also, there’s nothing too remarkable about its production. It’s a fantastic film, but that’s that. The film came out of the director’s bigger idea for ‘Tales From The Golden Age’, which is composed of five short stories set in Communist Romania. This might be of more interest, but is still potentially too tied to a specific historical period. I think I’d rather take individual stories from living under a communist regime and incorporate them into my plot-writing.
